Free community workshop #3

Our third free community workshop: another step in educating and empowering the community.
Workshop #3: continuing the journey
We’ve now completed three free community workshops so far, and we’re committed to doing more.
Each session helps us refine what we teach and how we teach it, based on what people actually struggle with day to day.
Workshop #3 was not about trying to be impressive. It was about being practical and building confidence.
What we’re learning from the community
People do not only need tech knowledge. They need confidence, clarity, and support.
Many challenges are simple but stressful:
- forgetting passwords
- avoiding scams
- using email properly
- submitting documents online
These workshops help remove those barriers.
What we focused on
1) Confidence through repetition
We repeated key topics because repetition builds comfort.
When people repeat:
- how to spot suspicious messages
- how to store documents safely
- how to protect accounts
They begin to feel in control.
2) Practical problem solving
We encouraged participants to think like problem solvers.
Instead of panicking when something goes wrong, ask:
- What exactly happened?
- What message did I receive?
- What link did I click?
- What evidence do I have?
This habit prevents mistakes.
3) Community learning
One powerful thing about workshops is that people learn from each other.
When someone shares an experience of being scammed, others learn without having to suffer the same pain.
That is why community learning is important.
Why these workshops matter
Technology is moving fast.
Many services are now online:
- job applications
- banking
- school registration
- government services
If people do not have digital confidence, they are left behind.
These workshops are one way to help people keep up.

What’s next
We’ll keep building a program that combines practical learning with ongoing support, so participants can keep improving even after the workshop ends.
We want to grow the program into:
- workshops for learners
- workshops for parents
- workshops for small business owners
The goal is to help people become confident and safe online, and to help them use technology for progress.
